VINUM Restaurant &Wine Bar is the result of the history of two families, and two passions, combined to create a unique space.

The SYMINGTON family may be British but has a very Portuguese heart, Port and Douro wine producers, living from the wine world for more than 130 years, and much in particular from Douro, like few others.

Therefore, come the time to choose a partner to a bold restaurant project, someone with the same ideals had to be found, to share the dedication, compromise and love for gastronomy, something they found in SAGARDI. A Basque group, created by Iñaki Lz. De Viñaspre and his family more than 20 years ago, and nowadays spread around the world, with more than 34 restaurants, something possible only with discipline, a reputation based in product excellence and high quality cuisine.

VINUM presents a high quality gastronomic offer, bringing the best of Douro, Trás-os-Montes, Minho, and the Atlantic to the table: Alheira de Mirandela IGP, fresh fish from Matosinhos Market, and the exclusive Vaca Velha from Trás-os-Montes are some of the classics available for tasting. Alongside these you can also taste the best of the Basque grill and contemporary dishes of international reference, like the tartars, the sea bass with mushrooms, the foiegras dishes, and the oxtail stewed in biologic wine.



Besides a well-maintained cellar and a service of excellence around wine, VINUM is wine, and therefore the dishes of the restaurant were especially created to harmonize with the Ports and Douro DOC wines masterfully produced by the Symington family, as well as with the wines from their friends, Portuguese and from all around the world, with whom they share the passion for this noble product.

Wine List


VINUM is the extension of the XIX century cellars where the famous Graham’s Port wines age in. The main room breaths that same wine world, with the historic pine beams, supported by cast-iron pillars, dating back to 1890, and a unique view over the 3200 oak barrels where wine ages in the cellars.

An historic room, recovered to create a unique and desirable atmosphere, where we’re invited to live and feel the glory of wine, alongside the best food the city has to offer.

Attached to the main dining room is the Atrium – our winter garden, where the visitor can enjoy one of Portugal and Europe’s most astoundingly beautiful views, both day and night, of the ancient city of Porto (UNESCO World Heritage), of the Douro river and of the unique Dom Luis Bridge. Few restaurants in the world can offer this atmosphere and this setting.

Wine Bar

Besides the restaurant, VINUM has a Wine Bar, complemented with a terrace over the Douro river, where one lives and breathes the wine and the city in perfect harmony. In addition to an extensive wine list, with a strong selection of wines by glass, the Wine Bar and the terrace also offer a more informal menu, with lighter meals and dishes to share, with special emphasis in premium Portuguese canned goods, and the oysters from ria formosa and some very traditional appetizers.


The visiting centre at Graham’s has twelve available rooms, each with its own particular character and offer various configurations for holding conferences, meetings, training, workshops and any other social event with capacity from 12 up to 600 people. In order to assure each special event and the space customization, VINUM – Restaurant & Wine bar offers a varied gastronomy at the highest level.
